Dangerous & Overhanging Trees

Hazardous tree removal in Bay, Walton, Gulf & Okaloosa County

Trees over roofs, pools and fence lines. Nothing gets dropped — our climber takes them apart from the top and rigs every piece down under control.

The Difference

There is no drop zone in a back yard

Plenty of outfits can fell a tree in an open field. The skill — and the risk — is in the trees where there is nowhere for anything to fall.

We Climb It

Our climber goes up and takes the tree apart from the top down. No lift needed, no access road cut through your yard, no reliance on a bucket truck reaching over a fence.

Every Piece Is Rigged

Sections are tied off, cut, and lowered on ropes under control — not dropped and hoped. That’s the entire difference between a controlled removal and an expensive accident.

Load Is Calculated

Rigging is physics. A limb swinging on a rope can generate far more force than its weight suggests. Anchor points, angles and sequence are worked out before anyone cuts.

Small Pieces, Slow Work

Technical removals take longer on purpose. Smaller sections mean less load on the rigging and less that can go wrong.

We Assess First

Hollow trunks, decayed unions and lifted root plates change the plan. A tree that looks solid from the ground can be a shell.

Licensed & Insured

Ask for documentation before anyone climbs a tree on your property. We’re happy to provide it — and you should ask it of everyone who quotes.

When To Call Us

Trees that shouldn’t be taken on by anyone else

If any of these describe your tree, it isn’t a weekend job and it isn’t a job for a general handyman with a chainsaw.

Overhanging A Roof

Limbs directly above a house, garage or lanai. Every section has to be rigged clear of the structure rather than dropped past it.

Over A Pool Or Deck

A pool cage or screen enclosure is easy to destroy and expensive to replace. Rigging keeps the load away from it entirely.

Leaning Or Storm-Damaged

A leaning tree is holding tension. Cut it in the wrong order and it moves in a direction nobody planned for.

Dead Or Hollow

Dead wood behaves differently. It splits, it shears, and it won’t hold a hinge the way sound timber does.

Tight Access

Narrow side gates, courtyards, and back yards no machine can reach. Climbing solves what equipment can’t.

Near Utilities

Anything close to a service drop needs care and sometimes the utility company involved. We’ll tell you which.

Customers on our technical removals

Both of these describe exactly this kind of work.

“I had 3 large trees removed and my fence line cleared. I have a pool, shed, play set, and fence among other obstacles in my yard and they maneuvered around it all with zero damage. It was quite impressive given how big the pine trees were.”

“They were professional, courteous, and listened to me with my requests. They took pride in their work, especially Brandon who climbed the tall trees and made sure that I was happy with the end result.”

The Process

How a technical removal runs

01

Photos From Several Angles

We need to see the tree, what’s under it, and how we’d get to it. More angles is better.

02

On-Site Assessment

For hazardous trees we come out. Decay, lean and access decide the method, and you can’t read those from a phone.

03

Rigging Plan

Anchor points, cut sequence, and where every section lands. Agreed before anyone leaves the ground.

04

Down, Piece By Piece

Climbed, rigged, lowered, cleared and raked. Slow on purpose.

On the job

What rigging a tree down actually looks like

These are our own crew on a pine removal — not stock photography. The tree comes down in sections, from the top, with a line on every piece.

Questions

Hazardous tree removal FAQ

Do you need a bucket truck or crane to reach my tree?

Usually not. Because we climb, we can take down trees in back yards, courtyards and behind narrow gates where no machine can reach. That often makes a job possible that other companies turn down.

What does “rigging” actually mean?

Each section is tied to a rope and anchor point before it’s cut, then lowered under control rather than allowed to fall. It’s how a limb directly above a roof comes off without touching the roof.

Why does a hazardous removal cost more?

Time and risk. A tree that can be felled in one piece takes a fraction of the time of one that has to come down in twenty rigged sections. You’re paying for the method that protects everything underneath it.

Can you remove a tree hanging over my pool cage?

Yes — that’s a typical rigging job. Screen enclosures are easy to wreck and expensive to replace, so nothing gets dropped anywhere near one.

My tree looks fine but it’s huge and close to the house. Is that hazardous?

Position matters as much as condition. A perfectly healthy tree directly over a roof still has to come down in controlled sections, because there’s nowhere for it to fall.

Are you insured for this kind of work?

Yes, and we’ll provide documentation before work begins. For technical removals in particular, never let anyone climb a tree on your property without seeing it.

What if the tree is near power lines?

Tell us when you call. Anything close to a service drop needs extra care and sometimes the utility company involved first. We’ll tell you honestly which situation you’re in.

Get Started

Got a tree nobody else will touch?

Send photos from a few angles. If it can be climbed and rigged, we can usually take it — and we’ll tell you straight if we can’t.
