Niceville has more standing timber inside its neighbourhoods than almost anywhere else on our patch. Bluewater Bay in particular was built into woodland rather than cleared flat, which is exactly why people like living there — and also why we get called. Tall pines and mature oaks sit right up against houses, garages and driveways, and there is often canopy from three or four properties overlapping above one roof.
That overlap is worth understanding before you book anything. It is common here for the tree causing you a problem to be standing on someone else’s ground. We will always tell you what we can see about where a tree sits, but whose tree it is and who is responsible is a conversation for you and your neighbour, not something we can decide.
Around Rocky Bayou and the water the ground softens and roots hold differently, so leaners are more common there than on the higher ground inland.

The tree causing the problem might be my neighbour’s. What now?
That happens constantly in Niceville because of how the neighbourhoods were built. We can tell you what we can see about where the trunk sits, but responsibility is between you and your neighbour. We will not cut another person’s tree without their say-so.
Can you take a pine down between two houses?
Yes. It comes down in short sections with a rigging line on each one. That is the normal way we work in Bluewater Bay.
My pine leans toward the house. Is it dangerous?
A lean by itself is not automatically a problem — many trees grow that way. What matters is whether the lean is new, whether the soil is lifting on the opposite side, and what is underneath. Near the bayou, where the ground is softer, it is worth taking seriously.
Do you clear pine needles and brush?
Yes, including piles you have already made. No need to bag or bundle anything.
How soon can you get out to Niceville?
