Local knowledge

A town that was rebuilt, and still building

Mexico Beach took the direct hit when Hurricane Michael came ashore in October 2018, and the town that stands today is largely one that was put back up afterwards. That shows in the work. A lot of what we do here is tied to construction rather than maintenance: clearing a lot before a build, taking out what is left of a damaged tree, hauling off the debris a contractor did not.

The tree cover is younger than in most of Bay County for the same reason, and younger trees on exposed coastal ground need shaping early if they are going to hold up. Where mature pines and oaks did survive, they are worth looking at closely — some carry damage from 2018 that has never fully healed.

It is a small town, so we are usually here because someone specifically asked us to come. That is fine. Tell us what you need and we will tell you honestly whether the trip makes sense for the size of the job, or whether it is better bundled with something else.

What we get called out for

Lot clearing for a build

Trees and undergrowth cleared to the line you need, with the material hauled off site rather than piled up.

Construction leftovers

Offcuts, packaging, old fencing and general site debris removed once the trades have finished.

Storm-legacy trees

Survivors from 2018 that have quietly declined since. Worth assessing before another season, not after.

Questions

Mexico Beach — common questions

Do you actually come out to Mexico Beach?

Yes. It sits at the edge of our Bay County patch, next to Gulf County, and both are counties we serve. For a very small job we may suggest timing it alongside other work in the area, and we will say so up front.

Can you clear a lot before we build?

Yes, that is one of the main things we do here. Cleared to whatever line you need, with the material taken off site rather than left in a pile.

How is lot clearing priced?

By area, density and what has to leave the site. It is always an on-site estimate — photographs are not much use for judging acreage.

Will you take construction debris?

Yes. Offcuts, packaging, old fencing and general site leftovers, cleared once the trades are done.

My tree survived the storm but looks tired. Is it worth keeping?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and the honest answer needs eyes on it. Root damage and old crown breaks are the things that decide it.

What payment do you take?

Card, cash, Cash App and Venmo, with financing available on larger jobs.
