Emergency · on call

Emergency Tree Service in Bay, Walton, Gulf & Okaloosa County

Tree on the house. Limb through the roof. Driveway blocked and nobody can get out. Call (850) 818-9694 — we take emergency calls outside office hours.

When it cannot wait

What counts as an emergency, and what can wait until Monday

Not every fallen tree is an emergency, and we will tell you straight which one you have. If a tree is resting on your roof, hung up in another tree, leaning on a power drop, blocking your only way out, or a limb is suspended over somewhere people sleep, that is work that should not wait. If a tree is down flat in the back garden and nothing is under it, it is usually safer and cheaper to book it in normally.

Our office runs Monday to Friday, 8 to 4. Storms do not. If something is genuinely unsafe, call the number and you will get a person — we are on call for emergency work.

One thing worth knowing before you ring anyone: a tree touching a power line is not a tree service job first. Call the utility. We can work around lines once they have made it safe, and we will not put a climber near an energised line for anybody.

What we do when we get there

Make it safe first

The immediate hazard comes down or gets secured before anything else. Hung-up limbs and partially failed trunks are the dangerous part, not the wood already on the ground.

Rigged, not dropped

A tree already on a roof cannot simply be cut through. Sections come off under rope so weight comes away from the structure rather than through it.

Documented for insurance

We can photograph the work as we go. Most insurers want evidence of what was there before it was cleared, and it is much easier to capture at the time than afterwards.

Questions

Common questions

Do you really answer outside office hours?

Yes. The office runs Monday to Friday 8 to 4, but we are on call for emergency work outside that. Call (850) 818-9694 and you will get a person rather than a form.

A tree is on my house right now. What should I do first?

Get everyone out of the rooms underneath it and do not go up to look. Then call us. If it is touching or near a power line, call the utility before you call anyone else — that has to be made safe first.

Is emergency work more expensive?

Emergency work takes more people, more rigging and it happens on the storm’s schedule rather than ours, so it is priced accordingly. We will tell you what it costs before we start, not after.

Will my insurance cover it?

That is between you and your insurer and depends on your policy, so we will not promise you either way. What we can do is photograph the work as we go, which is the evidence most insurers ask for.

What if it turns out not to be urgent?

We will say so. If it is safe to leave until a normal booking we would rather tell you that and save you money than charge you emergency rates for a job that could wait.

Do you cover all four counties for emergencies?

We cover Bay, Walton, Gulf and Okaloosa. Bay County is closest to home and will always be fastest. For the far edges — Crestview, Wewahitchka, Cape San Blas — call and we will be honest about how long we will be.

Something down and unsafe right now?

Call and speak to a person. If it can wait, we will tell you that too.
