Junk removal
What Junk Removal Actually Costs in Northwest Florida
Nobody publishes junk removal prices because every load is different. Here is exactly what drives the number, so you can judge any quote you get.
How it works
You are paying for volume and effort, not weight
Junk removal is priced by how much space your items take up in the truck, and how much work it takes to get them there. Those two things together account for almost the entire price.
That is why “how much to remove a sofa” has no fixed answer. A sofa sitting in an open garage next to the driveway and the same sofa in an upstairs bedroom at the end of a narrow hallway are genuinely different jobs.
Volume
How much of the truck your load fills. A quarter load costs roughly a quarter of a full one. This is the biggest single factor.
Access and carry
Stairs, long carries, tight doorways and no parking near the property all add time and people. This is where quotes differ most.
Disposal fees
Some items cost us more to dispose of properly — refrigerant appliances, tyres, mattresses, heavy rubble. Those carry a surcharge.
Labour
A pile already at the kerb is quick. Emptying a full garage where everything has to be assessed and carried is not.
The honest bit
Why we will not put a price list on this page
We could publish a table of numbers, and plenty of national companies do. The trouble is that those numbers are almost always wrong for your job, and you find out on the day when the crew quotes something different from the website.
We would rather give you an accurate number before we arrive. Send a photograph of the pile, the room or the garage and we can usually price it the same day. That photo costs you nothing and it means the price you are told is the price you pay.
For a whole-property clearout or anything involving structures, we will come and look. Photographs are not reliable for judging a full house.
Comparing quotes
Three questions worth asking anybody
A quote well below everybody else usually means one of those three is missing. Not always, but it is worth asking which.
- Is disposal included? A low quote that excludes tip fees is not a low quote.
- Is the price for the whole job or per item? These get quoted differently and the difference can be large.
- Are you insured? People will be carrying heavy things through your house. If they are not insured and something goes wrong, that can land on you.
Ways to bring the cost down
Move it to the garage or drive
If you are able to, getting items to an easy-access point genuinely reduces the price, because it removes the carry.
Do it in one visit
One larger job costs less than three small ones. If you know more is coming, wait and do it together.
Say if something is donatable
Items that can be donated sometimes avoid disposal fees.
Book off-peak if you can
If your timing is flexible rather than urgent, say so. It sometimes lets us group your job with other work nearby.
Questions
Common questions
Can you give me a price over the phone?
Often yes, for straightforward jobs, especially with a photo. For a full property or anything with structures involved we would rather look at it in person and be accurate.
Is there a minimum charge?
There is a practical minimum because a truck and crew have to turn up regardless. For a single small item it is worth asking whether we have work nearby we can group it with.
Do you charge by weight?
No, by volume and effort — except for genuinely heavy material like concrete or rubble, which is priced differently because weight is the limiting factor there.
Are there extra fees on the day?
Not if the job matches what we quoted. If you have added a fridge and three tyres since the photo, we will tell you what that changes before we load it, not after.
What payment do you take?
Card, cash, Cash App and Venmo, with financing available on larger jobs.
Do I need to be there?
Not necessarily, as long as we can access everything and it is clear what is going. Plenty of landlords and realtors have us clear properties they are not present at.
“Awesome crew and affordable pricing.”
Want a real number for your job?
Send one photo. Most straightforward jobs get priced the same day, and the number you are told is the number you pay.
